Genshin Impact is a massive game with a massive roster of 5-star and 4-star playable characters. It wasn’t always this way of course. In the beginning the 5-star and 4-star playable characters list in Genshin Impact was a lot smaller. But as of now with Patch 2.1 having just recently launched, there are 39 playable characters in the game if you don’t count the starting character known as the Traveler.
That’s a whole lot of characters to play. And while they aren’t all of equal power, they all have their place in the world of Teyvat. This guide walks you through all of the 5-star playable characters in Genshin Impact. Alongside their passive abilities, and active abilities like normal attacks and elemental bursts. This post will be for 5-star playable characters only. Check out our guide on all 4-star playable characters if you want to learn about them. Also check out our guide on the game as a whole if you want to learn more about it in general.
Since miHoYo is constantly updating the game and adding new playable characters with each patch, this post will be updated with the added details of those characters as they become available in-game. We will list them based on their star-rating, and in alphabetical order.
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play game, and can be downloaded for Windows here. It’s also available for PS4 and PS5, and Android and iOS mobile devices.
